Duties and responsibilities: The Manager: of Human Resources ensures that Council sustains the optimum utilisation of the municipality’s human capital.

The following sub-sections form part of HR: 

  • Occupational Health and Safety Services;
  • Learning and Development Services;
  • Reward and Recognition Services;
  • Employee Relations Services;
  • Administration Services;
  • Talent Management;
  • Recruitment, Selection and placement of employees;
  • Leave benefits and Claims Administration;
  • Employee Contract Administration;
  • Employment Equity;
  • Employee Assistance Programme; and
  • Coordination of Regional TASK Administration Services.

Committee Services

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Committee Services Section renders administrative support to the municipality to facilitate proper administrative practice.
  • Provision of secretarial support to Council and the various committees and sub-committees to ensure the performance of the specific secretarial sequences at meetings with regards to the circulation and completion of agendas and minutes.
  • Render a translation and interpret service in order to ensure high quality of work and ensures the successful implementation of Council’s Language Policy.
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a continuous flow of information pertaining to the preparation and conducting of meetings.

Information Communication Technology

  • Provide technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing ICT initiatives that aim to improve cost-effectiveness, service quality and business development in a dynamic environment.
  • Provide an advisory, strategic, developmental and management service in order to maintain and control the organisation’s information and communication technology systems and resources for the Municipality ensuring the compliance, availability, continuity and security of the Municipality’s data and services.
