There are several processes you can follow to apply for a job at our municipality

Option 1: E-recruitment website

Option 2: Manual application (hand-delivered)

Jobs graded T9 or lower still need to utilise the manual job application portal.

You can also manually apply for work by downloading this form, completing it and attaching your detailed curriculum vitae, covering letter, relevant certified copies of your qualifications, and driver’s licence, with a completed application form. These documents must be submitted to the Garden Route District Municipality Recruitment & Selection Unit, Human Resources, PO Box 12, George, 6530.

Option 3: E-mail applications

Register on our Expanded Public Works Programme database

We offer temporary work opportunities as part of our Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).

To access these opportunities, please register on the EPWP jobseekers database at your any of our offices or download the form here. You will need to take along your CV and ID, or a valid work permit.

Remember anyone can apply, including people who are differently-abled.

Apply for a bursary during October annually

You can apply for a bursary if you are a full-time student at an approved tertiary institution. You must also be registered for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or diploma in one of our approved scarce skills fields.

The application process kicks off in October annually. Please do not submit any application before then.

Students currently receiving tuition at Tertiary or Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions and learners who are currently Grade 12 or have passed Grade 12, for financial assistance towards further studies during the 2022 academic year. The financial contribution by GRDM, is restricted to full-time study and attendance at SAQA accredited tertiary, or TVET institutions. This is ONLY applicable to students whose parents permanently reside within the Garden Route municipal area.

Application forms are available at the GRDM and satellite offices during normal office hours (Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30; Friday 07:30 – 13:30). Application forms are also available from the GRDM’s website at www.gardenroute.gov.za.

THE GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY WILL ONLY CONSIDER COMPLETED APPLICATIONS AND IF THE DOCUMENTS MENTIONED BELOW HAVE BEEN INCLUDED.

A detailed Curriculum Vitae and cover letter, application form, and certified copies of the following documentation must be attached: Latest or Grade 12 results or equal qualification; latest examination results of students currently enrolled at tertiary institutions; certified copy of I.D.; affidavit of parents’ combined income and proof of residential address (municipal account).
